Weeds of Eden through the years ...

The Weeds of Eden have been playing around Indiana and the Midwest since the early 1990s.

In Indianapolis, the Weeds have performed on the main stage at Verizon Wireless Music Center (then Deer Creek), The Vogue, The Patio, Birdy's, Zanies Too, The Melody Inn,  Bubba's Bowling Club and tons of places that no longer exist (including our original home-base, Chubby's Club LaSalle).

The Weeds also have played at Rhino's in Bloomington, Ski World in Nashville, Ind., Uncle Pleasants in Louisville, Flannigan's Landing in Cincinnati, Ace of Clubs in Nashville, Tenn., Peabody's Downunder in Cleveland, and Cleo's and Kerrigan's in Chicago.

Over the years, the band has been recognized by the Indiana Music Awards, selected to represent Indianapolis at the Undercurrents International Music Expo, participated in several local and regional showcase events, and received airplay on radio stations WICR and WTTS.

Our musical influences come from a variety of disparate sources, ranging from T Rex, Blue Oyster Cult and Neil Young to The Pixies, Social Distortion and The Cure (to name just a few). If you like The Smiths, old REM and U2, The Sundays, The Cars, Throwing Muses, Fetchin' Bones, Michelle Shocked, Aimee Mann, Cracker and ... you have the makings of a Weeds fan.

Here's what one reviewer said after we played in a battle of the bands sponsored by Indianapolismusic.net:

"The honest to God, biggest surprise and refreshing band of the night were Weeds of Eden. The band was a bit older than most of the bands that enter the Patio battle. They were equal parts Mazzy Star and Led Zeppelin ... The songs were catchy, and I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but people in Indianapolis would lick this up if the songs were performed by some hip, cute punk rock girls. Sad but true."

OK, so we're not cute or young -- but we do rock and we put on fun, entertaining shows that win over fans where ever we play.

STAY TUNED ... MORE TO COME ... SOON ...
